birthday proposal

folks, in response to jason's workplace's debacle of a birthday "celebration"
(though i'd never say no to ice cream cake / happy birthday, jason),
i propose a new treats club tradition.
we should announce members' birthdays
if they happen to fall in the treats month we are celebrating.
coincidentally, my birthday is next month
so i happen to be one of the first beneficiaries of this new tradition.
sorry you can't be there, kara.
anyway, i like this idea
because what is sweeter than sweet treats?
birthday treats!

treats on the road

here is a picture of a delicious birthday cake i had at a july 4th party in greenpoint. my friend jessica made it by adding a can of 7up, some fresh lemon and some other stuff to a yellow cake mix. with homemade frosting. mmmmmmm. the other picture is of a cream puff that i had at a german restaurant in columbus! my dad and i ate a lot of treats together when i was home. he is getting pretty fat. my mom yells at him all the time but he can't give up his treats.

At our monthly gathering, we ordered dozens upon dozens of delicious goodies from The Treats Truck. Some of were comatose and watching Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. Others were playing video games. Woooord. Check out more photos here.

Rosa Mexicano Summer Ice Cream Festival

My favorite Mexican restaurant in New York, Rosa Mexicano, is having a Summer Ice Cream Festival. Apparently, they have done this before, but this is the first time I'm catching wind of it. I saw it listed wrong on going.com -- scheduled for this week. I called the restaurant to confirm and found out this year's festival will be some time in August. Keep a look out!!
