LAS VEGAS TREATS!!!

hey treatsters! i'm in las vegas for the shoe show this week. it's pretty brutal, but one thing they have here is good treats. this is a picture of a chocolate eclair that i ate today. it was SOOOOO good. fresh whipped cream, delicious custard and fresh chocolate on top. it was delicious. i miss you all and am sad i will be missing this month's meeting- again. boo. love to all of you!

birthday proposal

folks, in response to jason's workplace's debacle of a birthday "celebration"
(though i'd never say no to ice cream cake / happy birthday, jason),
i propose a new treats club tradition.
we should announce members' birthdays
if they happen to fall in the treats month we are celebrating.
coincidentally, my birthday is next month
so i happen to be one of the first beneficiaries of this new tradition.
sorry you can't be there, kara.
anyway, i like this idea
because what is sweeter than sweet treats?

here is a picture of a delicious birthday cake i had at a july 4th party in greenpoint. my friend jessica made it by adding a can of 7up, some fresh lemon and some other stuff to a yellow cake mix. with homemade frosting. mmmmmmm. the other picture is of a cream puff that i had at a german restaurant in columbus! my dad and i ate a lot of treats together when i was home. he is getting pretty fat. my mom yells at him all the time but he can't give up his treats.

Rosa Mexicano Summer Ice Cream Festival

My favorite Mexican restaurant in New York, Rosa Mexicano, is having a Summer Ice Cream Festival. Apparently, they have done this before, but this is the first time I'm catching wind of it. I saw it listed wrong on going.com -- scheduled for this week. I called the restaurant to confirm and found out this year's festival will be some time in August. Keep a look out!! Check out this old menu...

I'm sure all you Treats Club gamers already know about this, but apparently the creators of Guitar Hero I & II are planning to release a new game: Rock Band! with guitar, mic, and drumset! This thing can't be cheap, but we must have it. Treats Club Fundraiser?

hey dudes, i'm in paris this week with

reba sr. (my mom). we're chowing down on as many french treats that we can get our hands on. i was thinking about y'all today in the luxembourg park - we bought some macaroons and a plenitude - a yummy sweet concoction of chocolate mousse and caramel - from pierre herme and had a treats picnic. we should do this one weekend soon! also, i'm thinking we need to get a treats club international field trip in the works! ;)

hao sent me this link to a new york times article talking about pastry chefs who refuse to be sweet. i don't know about you, but after a savory meal, the perfect ending is a sweet treat.

The Prez and first lady stepped up big over the weekend and brought me an assortment of Sour Patch Kids for my 31st Birthday. The event was also celebrated throughout the weekend with 2 batches of Peach Cobbler, chocolate chip Rice to Riches (where I think we should def have a meeting sometime) and cupcakes from Magnolia. Just wanted you all to know that I brought in my 30s with decadence!!!

hot eats, cool treats

you know, when i was driving back from said family reunion (the one with the fountain) i saw a really old school billboard in the middle of nowhere pennsylvania for dairy queen. and it said "HOT EATS, COOL TREATS". that was a good one. remember that? and they make the hot eats all sizzly looking? and cool treats is like a brrrrrrrrr looking font. mmmmmmm.

I just wanted to say I ate a cupcake last night on the drive home from Philadelphia.
It was delicious and sweet.
Someone got it for me, so I don't know where it came from,
but aren't those the sweetest cupcakes of all?

long time reader first time blogger. thanks jin for setting this up.

i wanted to take a minute to tell you about the family reunion i was at this past weekend. i drove out to the middle of nowhere in pennsylvania, and gorged myself on treats all weekend. someone brought a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!! can you believe it? the fountain was in the middle of the table, and all around it were things to dip in the fountain. some of the things i dipped were: graham crackers, strawberries, marshmallows, choc chip cookies, potato chips, a brownie, some raspberries, and my fingers.
